On the occasion of the event Profumi di Mosto 2018, the food-and-wine itinerary that celebrates the harvest in the wineries of the Valtènesi area and the Riviera del Garda area and in the year of its 60th anniversary, Pasini San Giovanni presents the “Suspended Vineyard”. In other words, a work of art born from a creative reuse of vine tying tubes made of recycled material on steel cables. Today replaced by the use of vine tying rings in natural rubber, a substance obtained from the latex of plants.
TUBE LENGTH (meters)
With the warehouse residues of vine tying tubes (70% recycled plastic material once an integral part of our agronomic processes), a hectare of vineyard, suspended between heaven and earth, was symbolically reproduced in the courtyard of the Pasini San Giovanni winery.
The vineyard incorporates three olive trees, representing the fortunate coexistence of the two important crops. Each red tube represents a Groppello vine, for a total of 4,200 tubes, like the number of vines for one of our hectares of vineyard. The length of each tube, just over 3 meters, is similar to the overall vertical development of a vine, from the tip of the deepest roots to the top of the foliar apparatus.
